Walter Röhrl is one of the best rally drivers of all time. Ford, Opel, Fiat, Lancia, Audi or Porsche – he was able to win in any car. His dream was to make it to the victor's podium at the Monte Carlo Rally. He managed it not just once, but four times. His success didn't stop there: he went on to win the European Championship and two world titles. The fact that at Monte Carlo he triumphed in four different vehicles underlines his exceptional talent. “A car is only fast enough if when you stand before it in the morning you're anxious about getting in,” he once said. Walter Röhrl remains even to this day – at over 70 years old – one of the most fascinating personalities in rallying. With his forthright attitude and clear opinions the former world champion rubbed people up the wrong way at times during his long career, but that was also one of things that endeared him to his numerous fans. 

Since the beginning of his career 50 years ago, Walter has always worked closely with RECARO. A friendship to last a lifetime. 

“In a motorsport career of over 50 years I’ve always driven safely, well and successfully in a RECARO seat – and nothing about that is going to change in the future either”, says Walter.
