RHYS CONKLIN
At only 4-years-old Rhys Conklin was bit by the drifting bug following a ride with world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. Now, at only 14, Rhys has his own AJF Racing built BMW E36 and has begun his journey toward professional drifting and fun-having!
When he started drifting at 11 there was only one car at which Rhys had plenty of seat time, his family’s daily BMW. Rhys was able to convince his parents to let him buy the car, though at the time a driver’s license was still years away and even driving a manual was a new concept to Rhys. However, Rhys wasted little time getting under the hood and behind the wheel of his new car to begin honing both his car and craft. Over the winter of 2019, the team at AJF swapped a 6.3L LS3 into the car from LeeC Parts. With this added power Rhys finally had the car he needed to continue to grow in the sport he loves.
Rhys is currently continuing to practice, enter competitions, and entertain as a Fun-Haver as he works to get to the next level.
