Kirchheim/Teck, March 23, 2021 – Unique performance for entry-level racing: As part of a new cooperation, BMW M Motorsport and RECARO Automotive are offering ambitious teams and drivers worldwide racing and club sports experiences in a class of their own. As Technical Partner, the leading manufacturer of performance car seats is equipping the top version of the BMW M2 CS Racing (450 hp) with its premium racing shell RECARO P1300 GT LW.
"We are very excited about this partnership with BMW M Motorsport, which resumes our two brands' long, traditional association with racing," said Ulrich J. Severin, Managing Director of RECARO Automotive and Vice President Europe. "We are particularly proud to be able to support BMW M Motorsport with the top product from our portfolio. RECARO can inspire racing-savvy BMW customers with ultimate seat performance, helping to set new standards in the entry-level class."
"In RECARO Automotive, we have found the right partner who shares our fascination for top performance at every level of racing," said Thomas Felbermair, Vice President Sales and Marketing BMW M GmbH. "The FIA-homologated RECARO shell P1300 GT LW, with its unique combination of maximum safety and individual comfort, is exactly the right product to provide our customers with that very special performance experience in international racing and club sport, as well as at trackdays and other customer sport events."
With the high-performance version of the BMW M2 CS Racing, BMW M Motorsport seamlessly continues its tradition of close-to-production vehicles for customer sports. The straight six-cylinder with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and 450 hp is the successor to the BMW M240i Racing and is intended for use in worldwide racing series, in one-design cups as well as in club sport or at trackdays. These include the 24h Series and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring as well as competitions in the new Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) in 2021.
It is precisely in these competitions that the RECARO P1300 GT LW is completely in its element. In cup and touring car racing series with frequent and fast driver changeovers, it scores with the sum of its advantages: As the racing shell, homologated to the highest safety requirements (FIA Standard 8862-2009 for "Advanced Racing Seats"), is not only a lightweight, but also offers a maximum of individual adjustment options. These include a flexible adapter for longitudinal adjustment and interchangeable pads in three sizes.
