With RECARO from Melbourne to St Petersburg

Rainer Zetlow and his team set off on 27th July on their world record journey. In their Volkswagen Touareg TDI they are driving 23,000 kilometres from Melbourne (Australia) to St Petersburg (Russia). En route they will be passing through nine countries (Australia, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China, Kazakhstan and Russia). The aim of the journey is to take a letter from Melbourne’s mayor to his counterpart in St Petersburg in under three weeks. That means that the team members will have to drive 24 hours a day in non-stop rotation. For that they need good seats to provide the drivers with optimum comfort. This record attempt is being staged for a good cause, with 10 cents per kilometre covered going to the organisation ‘SOS Kinderdorf International’.
