Tuner Grand Prix in Hockenheim – Schäfer Clubsport, Kaiserslautern, and RECARO Automotive

On June 10 and 11, 2011, the Hockenheim Ring was again home to the Tuner Grand Prix, organised by SPORT AUTO. At this event, the tuners do not hide away their jewels in poorly ventilated fair halls – they present them right on the race track. More than just “show what you’ve got”, the motto on the race track is “show what you can do”. RECARO dealer Schäfer Clubsport from Kaiserslauten has been on board for a long while. The hunt for the ultimate lap time began with the John Cooper Works MINI spruced up by Schäfer Clubsport. Their successful rankings in the Tuner Grand Prix demonstrate that the team led by CEO Klaus Peter Becker and its customers know their craft. The Schäfer Clubsport version of the John Cooper Works MINI took places 1, 3 and 5 in its class.

The pinnacle of the weekend for RECARO dealer Schäfer Clubsport came with the announcement of the results for the annual vote for the sportiest car of the year, organised by SPORT AUTO. In the category of tuners/small cars, Clubsport Schäfer confidently took first place with the MINI John Cooper Works and thus defended its 2010 title. Klaus Peter Becker relies – and sits – on RECARO products for this MINI too. We congratulate them on the successful weekend and wish them good luck for a successful title defence in 2012!
