Very positive feedback for RECARO Automotive Seating at the North American International Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, which ended on Sunday, January 22, 2017: “The extraordinary interest in our brand and our products exceeded our expectations in every respect,” declared Markus Kussmaul, Executive Director of the Adient specialty seating group and the person responsible for the worldwide business of RECARO Performance Car Seating. “Vehicle manufacturers gave us very positive feedback, both in regard to the concept seats that we exhibited as well as in regard to our expanded positioning in the performance seating segment. In particular, our approach of establishing RECARO as a premium brand in the sporty SUV and pickup truck segment was extremely well received – with perfect support from our SUV concept seat, which was assessed as very attractive.” A main topic in discussions with OEM customers, as well as in numerous interviews and background talks with media representatives, was the future orientation of the RECARO brand within Adient. “In this regard, we have noticed clear and positive expectations as far as RECARO and future innovation projects are concerned. And: The value of the RECARO brand was confirmed by all customers,” Kussmaul said. “In this context, the opportunities for cooperation within the Adient global innovation network are seen as a huge opportunity and a unique selling point for RECARO.” The strong interest in RECARO was also reflected in visitor numbers. On the first two days of the show, which were open only to trade visitors, almost 600 registered guests visited the Adient and RECARO Automotive Seating stand to get information about current and future seating products. Many visits were concluded with the setting of appointments to discuss possible joint projects. During the show’s two media days, representatives of 44 US media organizations and 20 from Europe and China visited RECARO, including journalists from the Wall Street Journal, Automotive News, n-tv, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Automobilwoche as well as Automobil Produktion.
