IAA 2015: THE COUNTDOWN IS RUNNING

Not much time left until the appearance of RECARO Automotive Seating at the IAA 2015 in Frankfurt. This year we have something very special for our visitors: What catches the attention of the audience at our booth together with Johnson Controls (No. B24 in Hall 5.1) are four milestones in our successful history of the Sport Seat, which we are prominently displaying on the occasion of the 50th Sport Seat anniversary. The range of exhibits spans from the first Sport Seat, which was presented at the IAA in 1965, through to the Sportster CS of 2006. For the future there is the RECARO Sport Seat Platform (RSSP), which is now ready for series production, in the versions “Sport Extreme” for super sports cars and “Comfort” for series and GT vehicles. The RSSP provides many incentives: It is the flagship product for the lightweight design expertise of Johnson Controls and RECARO, the trim and design can be customized to a very large extent, and the carbon backrest can even be easily adapted to existing seat bases, making it possible to market a composite solution. We are also exhibiting a very recent successful product in terms of composite solutions for the sport seats of the new Audi R8 – the backrest developed by us was combined with an existing seat base made by Audi. The concept of RECAROization – existing seat structures are designed, trimmed and covered in a manner typical for RECARO – is demonstrated at the IAA on the basis of seats for the Cadillac ATS-V (available in the USA starting with model year 2016). With the racing shell RECARO P 1300 GT, we are also presenting our motorsport and aftermarket expertise. With a half-section of the commercial vehicle seat RECARO C 7000, the bridge to the CV business is finally being established, and the synergies with Johnson Controls in terms of installed seat structures and components are made clear.
