In the end, it was the youngsters who were well ahead. In their V8 Vantage GTE, the Young Driver AMR team with start number 95 managed to accomplish what is arguably the greatest achievement in sports car racing: Victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sitting in their race cars equipped with classic Gulf design RECARO Pro Racer-type racing shells, drivers Nicki Thiim, Kristian Poulsen and David Heinemeier Hansson crossed the finish line two full laps ahead of their GTE AM Class competitors in the endurance racing classic at Le Mans, France.
