X-raid and RECARO successful during „Dakar 2014“

Team X-raid – probably the most successful team of the last years when it comes to long distance-rallys – secures one win after the other at the “Dakar 2014” which started at the beginning of this year. This time the team has 12 racecars of the brands Mini and BMW in the starting grid for the most challenging long distance event of the world. And there is something all these vehicles have in common: racing shells from RECARO. The rally in South America started on January 5, 2014. In the middle of the actual week three stages were completed, two of those won by X-raid-cars. On January 7, 2014, the race was led by the team Nani Roma (Spain) and Michel Périn (France) on a Mini All4 Racing in front of X-raid-Teams Orlando Terranova (Argentina)/Paulo Fiùza (Portugal) and Nasser Al-Attiyah (Quatar)/Lucas Cruz (Spain), all on Mini. Star-driver Stéphane Peterhansel and Co-Pilot Jean-Paul Cottret suffered from bad luck after leading the race – after several punctures they saw the flag 28 minutes behind the leading car. They now were on fifth place. All in all five Mini All4 Racing-cars supported by RECARO were among the top-ten of this year‘s Rallye Dakar.
