RECARO looks forward to the new season of the ETCC

The recently established FIA European Touring Car Cup (ETCC) continues to gain popularity as a high-profile series of events for up-and-coming drivers and ambitious newcomers to touring car racing. This year, nearly 40 drivers will compete in ten races across three racing classes to claim the coveted podium positions. The season begins on the weekend of March 23 and 24, 2013, on a particularly noble stretch of asphalt: the racetrack at the royal park in Monza. RAVENOL Team SAN, a RECARO partner, will participate in the event, led by drivers Ulrike Krafft (Germany) and Romeo Luciano (Italy). Both will compete in the S1600 class with a Ford Fiesta 1.6 16V, equipped with RECARO’s Ultima 1.0 (Krafft) and Pro Racer (Luciano) seats. Krafft, an experienced driver who claimed third place in her class last season, is always a safe bet for a podium position. A native of Hamburg, she works as an applications engineer for ESP systems and is said by ETCC insiders to be a leading candidate for the title in the first-ever FIA Ladies’ European Trophy. At just 16 years old, Luciano, who hails from Piedmont, will be competing in his first season of touring car races. The fast Italian is eagerly awaiting the start of the season in Monza. Everyone at RECARO will be keeping their fingers crossed for the event, and the company wishes all the touring car drivers a successful start to the new season! More: www.fiaetcc.com
