On the second weekend of March (March 7-10, 2013), Retro Classics – one of Central Europe’s largest vintage auto fairs – will take place in Stuttgart, Germany. Naturally, RECARO, the traditional leading brand in mobile seating, will once again have its own booth at the event being held in its home country. With a floor space of over 100 square meters, the booth will be located in Hall 1 (Booth 1E12) and will feature the slogan “Lightweight seats in the world of racing”. RECARO will present an historical retrospective, clearly showing the developments that have led to its brand-new top model, the P 1300 GT. Six different models from previous decades will be on hand, beginning with the seat it built for the 1954 Porsche Speedster, while the company was still named Reutter. This was the forebear, as it were, of all racing seats. A booth highlight will be one of the very first factory-made Rally Quattros from the 1981 racing season, exclusively on loan from Audi Tradition. Like many of its rally-racing contemporaries, this car was equipped with RECARO racing seats. In addition to the racing seat exhibit and the all-wheel-drive milestone from Audi, visitors to the booth will, of course, also be greeted on every day of the fair by contact associates expertly informed about the history of the Reutter and RECARO brands, and their racing tradition. The booth’s presentation of the brand will be rounded out with product examples from RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Child Safety. For fans of classic and vintage automobiles – and of their seats –, planning a trip to Stuttgart’s upcoming vintage auto fair is a definite must!
