With help from RECARO, Team 75 Bernhard has achieved a near perfect start to the new season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany racing series, thanks to its talented new driver: the New Zealander Earl Bamber. At just 23 years old, the champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and winner of the International Cup Scholarship celebrated a fantastic debut on the Hockenheimring, winning third place in the Saturday race and a victory in the Sunday event on this classic racing circuit. With 36 points, this youngster from Down Under is now tied at first place in the championship series alongside Philipp Eng. Bamber’s young racing team from the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate provided the perfect platform for his stunning debut with a ca. 460 hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991) featuring the RECARO P 1300 GT. Timo Bernhard, the team’s mentor and a RECARO brand ambassador, was also extremely pleased with the race weekend: “That was a super race by Earl. Congratulations to the entire Team 75 Bernhard, which did a perfect job. It was wonderful to experience live the first Carrera Cup victory in this young team’s history, and now we’re even at the top of the championship rankings. I’m eagerly anticipating the rest of the season.”
