RECARO Automotive Seating unveils performance seats at Auto Shanghai for Chinese market debut

RECARO Automotive Seating is preparing its market launch in China as the premium brand manufacturer of performance seats for sporty luxury vehicles. Adient’s product group is presenting tailor-made products for Chinese OEM customers and for aftermarket applications in China as part of the Adient presentation in Hall 5.2, Booth 5BA001.

SHANGHAI, April 19, 2017 – “The RECARO brand name is founded on 111 successful years in the car seating business. We’re now taking advantage of Auto Shanghai to introduce our world-renowned automotive brand to a wider audience in China,” said Markus Kussmaul, executive director of the Adient specialty seating group and responsible for the worldwide business of RECARO Performance Car Seating. “Therefore we are utilizing our best brand ambassador: a RECARO seat and the chance to ‘Feel Performance,’ as we call it – for the incomparable experience of driving around a virtual race track while seated in an authentic RECARO racing shell in our simulator.”

Primarily, RECARO Automotive Seating aims to approach Chinese OEMs with three sample seats for sporty luxury vehicles at Auto Shanghai: A concept seat, which combines a sporty design approach and performance with driving comfort, has been specifically developed for the SUV premium performance segment. By showing two exclusive concept seats from its Luxury Power Performance product segment, the company underscores its positioning in the Chinese market as a premium brand for OEM customers.

Specifically for the Chinese aftermarket and in response to the growing demand for sports-oriented automotive equipment, RECARO Automotive Seating will show two seats from its Power Performance segment at Auto Shanghai: The RECARO Sportster CS, ‘China Edition’ and the RECARO SR-7 SK100, both tailored for everyday use in sports cars or high-performance derivatives of series-production vehicles.
