RECARO Automotive Unveils Latest Telfer Artwork at SEMA

Detroit, MI, USA, October 28, 2021 – RECARO Automotive, the premium seat manufacturer, unveils the latest work of art by Kelly Telfer showcasing renowned race car driver Patrick Long’s 1972 Aubergine 911T – 2.7 MFI with RECARO Pole Position Checkered Classic Line seats.  The large scale acrylic on canvas will be on display at the SEMA Conference in the RECARO Automotive booth #22334 in the Central Hall Racing & Performance area from November 2 – 5, 2021.

Patrick Long, an Oak Park, CA native, legendary 2-time 24-Hour Le Mans Winner and  3-time IMSA Drivers Champion is also the co-founder of Luftgekühlt, an annual gathering/show created to highlight the cultural importance and individuality of air-cooled Porsche vehicles.

“It’s such an honor to have this vehicle memorialized by Kelly. His works are recognizable in the motorsports world and especially in the Porsche community” said Long  “The Recaro Checkered Classic Pole Position seats are as iconic as the vehicle itself and have been depicted brilliantly in this painting.”

Owner and founder of Telfer Inc. artist Kelly Telfer has displayed pieces in multiple exhibits including the Petersen Automotive Museum, LeMay-America’s Car Museum, Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed as well as the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum. Telfer is also the official artist of Porsche Club of America- Porsche Parade and Werks Reunion Amelia Island/Monterey, Mercedes Benz Club of America, Weathertech Laguna Seca Raceway, SCCA Runoffs, and Rolex Reunion. A fan of Recaro seats, Kelly’s personal vehicle is a 1968 Porsche 911 called  “Bahama Mama” with original Recaro seats and headrests with pepita inserts. His vehicle won Best In Class at Amelia Island Werks Reunion in 2019 and was part of the Brumos Collection for 37 years.
