KNOW HOW: A PERFECT VACATION STARTS WITH GOOD POSTURE

It’s almost a classic: the car is packed, everyone is ready for the journey, and off we go to the vacation resort. In this situation, most drivers forget a key factor: if your posture in your vehicle isn’t right, you won’t arrive relaxed at your destination. The seat experts at RECARO Automotive Seating have developed some helpful tips. Take a couple of minutes and make use of all the different adjustment functions built into your seat to tailor it optimally to your body – it’s worth getting familiar with all the seat controls and preferably also the instruction manual. An ergonomically ideal seat position is achieved when the body has the best possible support in a relaxed posture. This begins with the seat’s length position: Adjust the seat distance from the pedals so that the knees remain slightly bent while fully depressing the pedals. Set the seat height high enough to ensure you have a clear view of all the instruments and good vision in all directions out of the vehicle. A key next step is finding the correct backrest angle: To do this, press your pelvis and shoulders as close as possible to the seat back. Adjust the backrest inclination so that the steering wheel can be comfortably gripped in the “9-o’clock-3-o’clock” position, and in the “12-o’clock” position with slightly bent arms. And don’t forget to adjust the headrest correctly: The top of the headrest should be level with the top of the head. If the tilt of the headrest is adjustable, the distance from the head should be about two finger-widths.
