Mustang® racing has always been associated with legendary on-track performances from Daytona to Bathurst, Indianapolis, Pomona and Le Mans. Now, after five years, the Blue Oval returns to the Circuit de la Sarthe. It’s officially entering the global FIA GT3 category and racing in 2024 — with the Mustang GT3 race car — based on the brand-new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse™ model.
Built for GT3 competition by Multimatic Motorsports and Ford Performance, the new Ford Mustang GT3 race car features a bespoke short-long arm suspension, Multimatic DSSV dampers, rear-mounted transaxle 6-speed gearbox, carbon fibre body panels, as well as a unique aero package developed to meet GT3 targets. It is powered by a 5.4-litre Coyote-based V8 engine, developed by Ford Performance and built by World Rally Championship partners, M-Sport.
The new racing shell from RECARO according FIA 8862-2009 offers a 6-point connection to the vehicle and ventilation.
